Muresenilor House Museum of National Anthem

Muresenilor House (Casa Muresenilor) was founded in 1968 as a result of a donation made by the descendants of Mureşianu family.

Fulfilling thus the cultural testament of Jacob Mureşianu and offering to the Romanian state the space needed, in order to organize a museum, a very valuable collection of furniture, paintings, sculptures and especially an archive of inestimable cultural value, including over 25,000 documents . The museum is dedicated to the memory of several members of this family with great merit in cultural and political life of their time.

Muresenilor Archive is one of the richest and most important family archives. Leading for more than half a century “Transylvania Gazette” (Gazeta Transilvaniei), Muresenii corresponded with all political leaders of their time, both in Transylvania as well as from other provinces inhabited by Romanian. Besides political correspondent, in Muresenilor Archive are found –  increasing its cultural value – numerous manuscripts of Muresenilor and their newspaper correspondents

. The presence of documents related to the history of the national anthem “Desteapta-te, Romane “creation of the immortal Andrei Muresanu, also draws attention.

Muresenilor House Museum is transforming into  a complex of memorial houses dedicated to the memory of great personalities from Brasov. In June 24, 2006 “Stefan Baciu” memorial house was opened.
