„Fagaras Mountains are the wildest place I have been” cordelia2512, Hereford, United Kingdom

Last Updated on septembrie 3, 2014

These mountains shoot up out of the plain, retaining their snow caps well into May or June. They are the wildest place I have been. There are paths marked but to someone used to Western Europe it was a surprise to find that you basically have to find your own way. While walking we heard an approaching strange sound every few minutes: the mystery was solved when we saw a person in bright orange ski clothes, who advised us to make loud noises every so often to scare the bears away. If you see any flocks of sheep with their shepherds you will notice how the sheeepdogs are trained to defend the flocks against predators rather than controlling the flocks as in Western Europe.
