After visiting many cities and touring we were looking for something different to enjoy. The Seven Ladders Canyon hike is a must do for any outdoor enthusiast! We loved the actual ladders to climb the canyon – you may get a bit wet! It was an absolute exhilarating experience. We continued onwards to the cabana at about 1500m(?) – it took us a further 2 hours and was fairly difficult due to rough terrain and an ongoing incline for pretty much the entire two hours – not for the physically challenged. The cabana hosted offered beers and a light meal (bean soup was all that was left that day – but they also do have meats) for less than $15. After enjoying the beautiful vistas of Brasov and the surrounding mountains (and the grazing donkeys) – we headed back down on a much more forgiving walk (called ‘the family road’) taking about 2 hours. There was an option of heading to the highest peak (another hour) but we declined. We were thrilled to have chosen this option – it is well worth the trip.
